Imagine a sneaker that digitally changed designs as you walked. We've seen wild concept videos from a number of e-sneaker start ups in recent years, but now tech giants Sony have thrown their hat into the ring with a working new balance 247 classic concept that embraces the company's latest e-paper technology — as found in their current FES Watch U.Sony's 247 v2 concept integrates e-paper into its outsoles and side 'N' logos. This year New Balance celebrates the 20th anniversary of their new balance 580 mens silhouette, and now that the formalities are over, the festivities continue with two new knitted versions of the new 'Reengineered' offering. The Reengineered 580 ditches the cumbersome panelling of the upper, opting for a contemporary, streamline knitted construction. The heel cap, side support and outsole echo the familiar feel of the OG runner, while the knitted upper utilises a fade from top to bottom, giving a more dynamic look. The two initial colourways are a black and white gradient, as well as indigo and white.

Taking a trip down memory lane, New Balance’s latest women’s new balance 580 womens has been inspired by the outdoor gear of the 90s. The majority of the uppers are dominated with white, grey and black and decorated with a few bright accents. The colourful accents would make it easy to spot any wayward adventurers who happened to have lost their way, but it turns out the also make for some desirable sneaks.
